Sunday, 02 December 2018 19:24

The scientific supervisor of Psychopathology.gr, Dr. George Konstantakopoulos, recently presented issues related to his research interests and how these are related to psychopathology, both in an interdisciplinary as well as a wider audience.

In Discussions on Speech at Eginition, organized by the Unit of Neuropsychology and Pathology of Speech of the First Department of Neurology of the University of Athens, at the amphitheater "Costas Stephanis" of the Eginition Hospital, George Konstantakopoulos gave a lecture on 24 March 2018 on: “Knowing the feeling: Empathy, theory of the mind and meta-cognition”. He referred to the role of empathy in the process of psychological development, to the higher order cognitive functions (meta-cognition) involved in the understanding of the emotional states and reactions both of other people (theory of the mind) and our own (insight) and to the dysfunctions of meta-cognition which form the basis of mental disorders.

The lecture was recorded by the website of the Bodossaki Foundation, www.blod.gr, and anyone who wants it can watch it on the web by clicking on the following link:

In addition, in the magazine PRISMA of the newspaper Avgi, on 28/6/2018, an interview of George Konstantakopoulos on a similar topic - specifically on the research on empathy, awareness and management of emotions and the role of meta-cognitive skills in psychological development and social interactions - was published.
